Perry Court E-ACT Academy, in Hengrove, has never had a minibus and rely on parents for transport, but staff feel it would make a big difference.

Abby Miles, higher learning teaching assistant at the south Bristol school, has been trying to get the minibus for the school as she feels it would provide pupils with more opportunities.

The lead sports coach said they set up a GoFundMe page last week and were hoping to raise up to £5,000, adding they had had a good response from parents so far.

She said: “For our children, this would give them more experiences and it would make the staff feel very proud.

“It would make the pupils smile and feel happy.”

For example, they like taking pupils on sport fixtures against other schools, Ms Miles continued.

The school is offering any businesses or companies who make a donation to have their logo printed on the minibus.

In the GoFundMe page, it says: “Perry Court E-ACT Academy have been successfully awarded a grant of £4000 from the John James Bristol Foundation towards the cost of a mini bus.
