15th March 2021 Update
Just a brief update for this week. The roofers are starting today on the south block which means you will see some grey roofing material going on. The timber frame is progressing nicely and from tomorrow you will see some windows and doors being installed. The sports hall roof (metal structure) will be starting next week and you will really see the school taking shape.
22nd February 2021 Update
Just a little update for you all and detail of some of the things currently happening on site.
As you can imagine it’s been very wet on site but good progress was still being made last week and you will see that most of the South Block is now up. Part of the North Block will now be going up and work will also be starting on the permanent car park this week. So fingers crossed from the week commencing 8th March, the site traffic will be using this area to park and this will mean less site vehicles parking out on the road if and when pupils return.
Week commencing 8th March will also see the arrival of another large crane which will be lifting the roof structure onto the South Block. Walls will start to go in and roofers will be in completing this roof. Early March you will also see windows and doors appearing in the South Block.
Once the weather is a little dryer and a lot of the above work has been completed, then we will hopefully be able to arrange some site visits for pupils
4th January 2021 Update
Next week the steel frame of the building will be erected on site. Keep your eyes peeled for a crane arriving on site on Monday 11th and the lorry delivering the steel frame.
A small area around the site entrance will be coned off to prevent parking on Monday morning, this is to ensure sufficient space for the arrival of these deliveries.
You will be able to see the new building coming out of the ground next week and the following week the concrete will be poured for the ground floor sub,
£10 million face-lift, that will see the number of places rise by 50 per cent, to start soon….
Plans are now in place for commencement of the new build project at Perry Court E-ACT Academy. It is hoped that initial works will begin early in the new academic year with handover of the new building taking place early in 2022 – date to be confirmed.
Another 210 places will be added, taking numbers from 420 to 630 and the number of classes per year group from two to three. There will also be larger nursery provision available in line with this.
Perry Court E-ACT Academy’s new headteacher, Nicky Reynolds, said “It will be a building that children and teachers alike will enjoy teaching and learning in. Regular updates will be communicated and I look forward to the day the children and I can show you around!“
Once the academy re-opens in September the below information will be available to view at the academy, by appointment only:
