Over the last few days we have been having a lot of news!
ukactive Kids and Nike have revealed the nine regional winners for the Active School Hero Award, an initiative which recognises primary school staff across England making an outstanding contribution to getting kids moving.
Over 900 nominations were received during an eight-week period from April to June, with inspirational stories received from across England. The award aims to shine a light on individuals who inspire children to be active in what has been a challenging year for the mental and physical health of young people, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Active School Hero was created to celebrate and support inspirational primary school staff working hard to improve activity levels in England. Our wonderful coach, Miss Miles is the South West Regional winner – well done Abby!
Mrs Marsh, Deputy Head, has also been rewards with a Certificate of Excellence by Pearson National Teaching Awards, gaining the 2021 Lockdown Hero Award for Learner and Community Support. Well done Mrs Marsh!
Finally, the school have won a competition with https://fun-play.co.uk/ to get new playground markings on our new playground on the new site, worth £3,000! Thank you!
The Silver Sports Package offer a line-up of six, brightly coloured markings, which will keep children eager to return to the playground as soon as they leave. The colourful jump game playground marking can help kids develop a love for athletics. Teaching numbers? The 4-way hopscotch and dartboard playground markings are great assistants!
Netball is a fantastic team-building exercise that improves decision making. Our Dance With Me playground marking is a great way to develop dancing and social skills. And the ultimate physical test, but also a super fun one, is the active trail with active spots, made up of many fun activities.
