On Saturday 24th November it was the Inter Area Cross Country championships at Ashton Park School. The first round of the cross country competitor was back in September and we had 3 children qualify from this for the South Bristol Cross Country Squad.
It was a cold and wet Saturday morning but all children were eager and keen to get going. First up was the Y5 boys which saw Justin and Harley from 5LB run in. In the previous round before the boys both made the top 16 which meant they gained a position in the South Bristol Squad. At the Inter Area Cross Country Championships the standard was even higher! Justin and Harley both finished in the top 20 – a remarkable 17th place for Justin and Harley was just behind Justin, determined to catch him up and finished 19th!
Alexander from 6MM made the top 16 in the previous round in September which meant he had a place in the year 6 boys team. Alexander was fighting a nasty cold but still have it his all and completed the course in a speedy time.
