Music

At Perry Court children learn music through singing and playing instruments along with a web-based scheme called Charanga.

Through the popular songs available on this site, children learn about the structure of musical composition. Alongside this are games to support skill based learning.

The children in Year 4 are learning to play musical instruments. This year, through Fast4Music – provided by Bristol Plays Music – they are learning to play the Ukulele. In previous years, children have learned brass or woodwind instruments. Many children then have the opportunity to take up individual tuition on an instrument of their choice.

Music is also used to support other subjects: learning times tables or scientific facts.

The most popular time of the week is Singing Assembly, where children enjoy a variety of songs from Folk songs to 3-part rounds.
